Woodlands Update

Good Afternoon to you All,

Please see below the additional information regarding Woodlands. This information was also sent via the office this afternoon.

Dear Parents/Guardians

Please note the following instructions for Monday 11th October.

The coach to take the children to Woodlands will arrive at 08.00am.

Could we ask that only one parent accompany your child onto the school site.  Please make your way to the coach with your child and your child’s suitcase, load the suitcase onto the coach as directed by members of school staff.  You child should then go to their class as usual through the big gates.  Please do not take them to their class.  If you have any medication for your child please go to the outside hall entrance where a member of school staff will take the medication.  Could we then ask that you leave the school site.  If you wish to wave the coach off please do so from the pavement outside the school.

This is a normal school day for the rest of the school so we do ask that you leave as soon as the coach has departed.

PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 08.00.

Any daily updates will come via the office in the mornings. We will of course update you upon our safe arrival and will update you on our eta on our return on Friday, once we have an idea of the traffic situation.

Please try and have a restful weekend.

Best wishes,

The Year Six Team

Weekly Update!

Another busy week has flown past and we are all getting excited about our forthcoming trip to Woodlands. Thank you to all parents who made an appointment to have a telephone conversation with us on Wednesday and Thursday regarding any concerns. We hope you also enjoyed the power-point which was emailed to you about Woodlands. Please keep an eye on the blog and information sent from the office regarding any important updates.

The children have made a great start to some diary writing this week and will be continuing with this piece of writing next week in English. Some fabulous conversations have been taking place in our Science lessons in relation to the realm of Evolution. We certainly have some budding young Darwin’s in our midst.

Unfortunately, the Oxford United volunteers were unable to come in this week due to having no petrol! They will be back with us next Thursday, so children will need to be in PE kits. Thursday is going to be a busy sporting day as our annual school inter – house cross country event is taking place. Our new Sports Captains will be working hard supporting all year groups in this event.

We hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

The Year six team.

Weekly Update

Good Afternoon to you all and welcome to our weekly update.

Looking ahead to our residential at Woodlands, we shared some information with the children today and gave them an opportunity to ask some questions. Myself and Mrs. Hewson have recorded a presentation for you, which, barring any technical difficulties, should be with you at the beginning of next week. We would also like to provide you with the opportunity to have a telephone conversation with your child’s Class Teacher regarding any additional information that you think we should know. We have put aside some time on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th September between 3.30 and 5pm, so please contact the office and we will arrange a time. Of course, if those times do not suit, then please let us know when does.

We have also been asked to include the following information on our Blog for your attention:

Please remember that it is ‘bike to school week’ next week. There is the link below if you would like to sign up for it.

https://www.sustrans.org.uk/campaigns/bike-to-school-week-pledge

There is this message from Mrs. Colqhoun:

Reading Raffle Every week we hold a reading raffle in school. To enter this the children will need to read at least three times a week and have this recorded in their reading diaries in order for their names to be added to the raffle jar. The children can read their reading books from school, books from home and Bug club to count towards the weekly reading. If your child’s name is pulled out they will receive a golden coin that can be used in our new Reading Raffle vending machine.
Keep reading and good luck!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

The Year Six Team
